From the first drift to my second visit: My drifting journey at Grafiska vägen

Sliding into a corner on a specially painted, slippery floor in an electric go-kart is an absolutely wild feeling. At Grafiska vägen in Gothenburg, you will find one of the most unique racing experiences in Sweden, a track built for drifting. As the creator behind the F1 account F1rmav, I am used to motorsport, but holding a continuous drift and maintaining control with instant electric torque requires a completely unique technique. This track holds a very special place in my heart, as it was the very first venue where we were allowed to come in and film our content.

My very first time on the track was a real challenge for the reflexes. The specially treated floor causes the kart to lose grip the moment you turn, meaning you have to steer with the throttle and counter-steer the drift at the exact right millisecond. In the beginning, it was mostly about finding the balance and avoiding spinning out completely, but as soon as the technique clicked, it was pure magic to flow through the corners sideways. It was an incredibly fun experience that immediately left me wanting more, and the footage we filmed truly showed how intense and entertaining this type of go-karting is for anyone who loves motorsport.

It felt absolutely fantastic when I returned to their facility for a second visit. Coming back to Grafiska vägen, this time with a bit more experience within the Swedish racing scene, was proof of how much F1rmav has grown. The second time around, the focus was on delivering really sleek and viral content for my followers. With the experience from the first visit under my belt, I could push the limits of the electric karts even further, taking the corners at much higher speeds and pulling off some seriously wide drifts for the camera.

It is always rewarding to look back at where it all started and return to the locations that welcomed us early on to showcase motorsport in a fresh and exciting way. The track at Grafiska vägen comes highly recommended to anyone wanting to test their skills behind the wheel, whether you are a beginner or an experienced driver. No prior experience is needed to have fun, but it is guaranteed to give you an adrenaline rush out of the ordinary.
